Beware the Candle in the Wind

More than 15,000 fires are caused by candles each year. To safely use candles in your home, remember to never leave a burning candle unattended. Do not burn a candle near any flammable material and always place your candles in sturdy, heat resistant holders. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch each time you light your candle. Finally, do not burn a candle all the way down, as this can cause the candleholder to overheat. Once you have about one inch of wax left, you should discontinue burning your candle.
